Connectivity with Seamless Design
Ensuring Secure, Aesthetic WiFi for a Modern Bistro Experience
Overview
Problem
District House, a stylish bistro in New Brighton, needed reliable WiFi for both staff and guests. However, their unique challenge was the 5ft reinforced walls of the former bank building, as well as concerns about security, given that both their POS tills and CCTV systems also relied on the network. They required a secure solution that wouldn’t compromise their aesthetic or network safety.
Solution
By using Virtual LAN (VLAN), we ensured separate, secure networks for guests and staff. To preserve the bistro’s sleek design, we buried 150m of Ethernet cable behind thick walls and fixed furniture, ensuring that all wires remained hidden without the need for unsightly conduit. The router, originally installed in a public area, was relocated via heavy-duty cable through dense walls. WLAN access points were discreetly installed to provide comprehensive, uninterrupted WiFi throughout the space.
